I have a wonderful idea for use of the big controversies here on the BBS, please add your (constructive) comments on the following:
Whaddya think about cutting a BBflat St. Petersburg tuba to CC? Seems like the ultimate way to learn about the challenges of "cutting" - and would afford good opportunity to try things like the 1/8" metal bead add-ons (like Jay's big horn) as well as just beef up all the braces in general. And since they are so affordable, there's not a "lot" of risk in cutting up some museum piece...just a thought anyways
