I spoke with Warren last January, when I was contemplating purchasing a Nirschl myself, to get his thoughts about the Nirschl because I had heard he had one. He confirmed to me that he had actually bought two and gave me some great advice/information about the horn. He also told me he was using them on the job and how that was working out with his colleagues in the trombone section. He didn't mention the MW 2000 CC at all.
I can't tell you anything concrete about Sam because I haven't seen him in years. Maybe one of his current students is monitoring this forum and can provide some information on Sam's current equipment.
