Congratulations to your buying of the Monster! If it is in a decent shape you probably will keep it your lifetime out.
The recent threads telling of the large sousas being the inspiration for the large orchestral CC’s should even add to your joy of your new instrument!
Personally I have had good benefits from investing in a sousa chair for my Conn 40K, which might be of a somewhat comparable weight to your Buescher. Maybe you could construct something useable yourself.
Unless your school’s concert band is equipped with extraordinary instruments in the tuba section, the band surely will benefit from the Monster sound.
But until you are gaining some size and weight yourself, you should not be ashamed to use a school sousa of a more manageable weight in the marching band.
