I have used boiling water...takes it off quick! NO don't just throw
your horn into a giant kettle and boil it...use a tea kettle and pour
the boiling water over small sections of the horn at a time, then wipe
clean. I did this to an old horn I had once, and regretted stripping
the lacquer for the rest of the time I owned the horn, but if you
wanna try it this was a very efficient, non-noxious method which gives
good results on OLD lacquer.
