Without getting into a whole slew of specifics, my suggestion to you is to get a lesson with an accomplished professional player and ask him about it. I'm not trying to be funny here, just giving good and honest advice. The Prokofiev 5th is practically a concerto for the tuba and it requires alot of preparation as well as insight into the piece and the orchestration techniques Prokofiev uses. There are literally hundreds of choices you will need to make about the excerpt based on your playing and equipment, etc. This is all best accomplished with all the hardware in the same place, so to speak, and under the watchful eyes and ears of someone who's done all of that work. We just performed this work last season and it is quite a ride, I can tell you. Good luck!
