I just took over as the instrument repair instructor at Renton Technical College in Seattle (one of three schools in the U.S. that teach repair). Among the large inventory of old/antique instruments are 37 brass and silver sousaphones. They include short-action valve and regular Conns, Kings, Olds, Holtons, Martins and others. Most are BBb, but there a few E flats. The students are currently working on the Large Brass unit of the course. What better way to practice your skills than resurrecting old sousaphones? For information on the program, email me or call 425-235-2453. Take care, Daryl
