There is a raging controversy in a Tuba/Euphonium group I belong to about the alto horn. Boiled down, the issue is "Does it belong?" The anti forces say (1) it is not a tuba, (2) it is not a euphonium and (3) we have no music written for it. The opposite side holds that it has always been a member of the tuba family. Personally, I could support either side, its the attorney in me.
