I live in NYC. I have a similar situation with having to practice in my apartment. I suggest you check your lease first. Then check with your local police department to see if there are any regulations governing this subject(NYC has an Entertainment Law the provides that musicians may practice in their apartment from 10am-10pm). For me, after I got all thgis info, I typed a letter to the landlord explaining my predicament and when I planned to practice. I put copies under my neighbors doors. I have not had a single problem since. Then I got a Silent Brass, which made it piossible to warmup in the early am. People are generally cool about stuff like this if it is presented in a way that takes their interests into account and is factual as well.
