I'm auditioning for Ithaca for the 2000-2001 school year. I talked to David Unland, the tuba professor, and he's such a great guy! He told me what he would like to include in my audition tape (cuz I live in Japan). Well, I'm currently working on the technical and legato movements for my audition tape from Tyrell (18) and Bordogni (7). I keep working on it and with a metronome, record myself, with no metronome, taking it slow, but I can NEVER get it down perfect or to the point that I am satisfied. I also have Suite for Unaccompanied Tuba by W.S. Hartley to get down. I want to make this audition tape as perfect as possible because I really would like to get into Ithaca, get as much scholarship as possible (yeah really, with $25G's) and since it's not a live audition. Any suggestions or sharing of personal experience? Thank you for any follow-ups.
