I use an Altieri bag and have just the opposite response. Being custom made for the horn
they are going to be used for, there is no reason for them to be floppy. As far as protection goes, obviously no gig bag is going to provide the protection a hard case will. I had Donna put a waist strap on my bag, that also seems to help in the flopping.
