I believe it was 1988. If you are trying to figure out who is on a particular recording though, things get tricky. During the mid 1980's Mr. Jacob's health did not permit him to be as active as in his younger years so there were others who had to step in and help out with CSO services. Many of the recordings from that period were of Rex Martin, one of Mr. Jacobs' students. Mr. Martin has a very Jacobian approach to his playing, so it may be difficult to tell the difference at times between the two.
Anything after 1988 is most likely Gene Pokorny.
