Would you buy a Cerveny 686 sight unseen? I hope not. But you can buy a 186 that way, because they are about 5000 times more consistent than Cervenys, even assuming your thesis is correct.
I've owned both. The Miraphone is better made, more consistent, stronger, easier to repair and holds its value better. It also played better, though my Cerveny did its job.
