knowing how to pad your resume. seriously.

that gig in the community band? "[city] Civic Wind Orchestra"
couple of students in middleschool allstate orchestra? "[etc etc] Festival Orchestra advisor"
church choir? ...you get the idea.

experience counts.. but what counts more is how you present it. Resume presentation might mean the difference between being invited to an audition or staying at home to read about it on the tubenet.. I was a sophomore in college when I was invited to play for year with a well-known european orchestra based on an audition tape, and a resume. I put more creativity into the resume than the tape.

...being invited to the audition might mean the difference between having a job next year or staying at home to read jobs on the tubenet.

good luck!
