Sometimes the answers that appear to be the most obvious/idiotic/etc. are also the most correct.
Compare your resume to the person who just evacuated the job, and that might give you better insight as to why you weren't invited to interview in person...
...or you can read posts that others will offer you telling you to "keep your chin up", "your day will come", etc.
Of course you should keep your chin up, and if you want your day to come you must create that day. No one "owes" you a "shot". It is totally up to you to make someone's "shot" at you something that they cannot afford to pass up.
