I was thinking more about the type of tuba I want.

It needs to be a 4 valve, under $2000, and I'd prefer used.

The most important thing is that it has decent tone throughout the entire range. I need to be able to play in low register and quickly switch to the high register. I think I am better in the low register. So, if the tuba is has to be better in some range, it should be the high.

I would prefer a tuba that's easy to carry, but I am way more concerned about the way it sounds.

I was thinking about a Jupiter 582, Weril 980 or 680 (doubt I'll find either used, but it would be nice), Conn 5j, Olds-99 (do they make 4 valves in this model?), maybe a king 2341(can I find this for under $2000?).

Any of these tubas stand out based on what I said? Are there any others I should look at?

Thank you guys... been very helpful so far.
