Whilst attending the TubaMania event (I believe that's what they call it) a year or two back at Butler University in Indianapolis, I had the chance to listen to a number of tubists from the school perform a variety of solo pieces. The horn that sounded the best to my ears was a 186CC. Horns ranged from MW 2145 size to Miraphone 1295 size. The "standard" 4/4 sure sounded good in the audience.
