You're never going to make it in music.

Face it.

If you are just now working up the Broughton then what did you do during the entire 7th grade year?

Be realistic.

If you could not play the Vaughan Williams by your Christmas Concert in 6th grade beginning band then you will simply never make it. Are you aware that there are at least 1500 8th graders that are responsible enough to not waste time going to classes - sheesh!

And you had better have the correct instruments for your career by the beginning of 9th grade band camp. You will need a good CC BAT, as well as a 4/4 CC for freelance work and smaller things, while having a nice, large F for quintet. Also, having a smaller F for all of your many solo recitals is advisable, if not actually necessary.

You are way behind! You should already be through the John Williams AND the Kraft AND Beelzebub (one can't neglect a major work like Beelzebub . . . )

Yet you want to chit-chat about memorization???

Your priorities are all screwed up, buster! You had better get off of that computer in Don's studio and GET BACK TO WORK MEMORIZING THE BROUGHTON!!!!

Honestly, how do you expect to have your DMA by the age of 16 if you do nothing but waste time?
