Check out Cakewalk into town - by Taj Mahal with Howard Johnson playing what sounds like a very big tuba on Taj's acoustic disc circa 1996? I can't remember. the guitar is amplified, but it is a good number. there is atleast one more track on that album that has both tuba and guitar. It may give you an idea for ballance issues.
