I had the pleasure of hearing Ryan play with the Canadian Brass at St John Smith's Square, London last year.

Simply incredible.

He and the 'Brass played to a packed venue which they must've known included many of the finest brass players from in and around London; some pressure. They all played superbly.
The 2nd Tpt was great, and I'd pay good money to hear the Horn player as soloist, but Ryan really stood out as outstanding.

2nd that about the transparency of the instrument; all you hear is this guy communicating through music. When you do notice the technical stuff such as lip-trills on Picc(!) or whatever else you're left in wonder at the impossible fluency and ease in execution of his playing. Ryan played a solo on Bb with a plunger-mute and he got the widest range of sounds I've heard ANY instrumental player achieve.

You simply have to hear it to believe it.

Good luck to him!
