The University of South Carolina has an outstanding marching band "The Mighty Sound of the Southeast". The music department is very good (especially music education) and the ensembles are excellent. The honors programs are solid at the University of South Carolina. However, the strength of a school in your major area (which is?) should be one of your primary concerns. There are many great marching bands at excellent schools in the USA.
