Dale,
The opening of the receiver starts out at .620", tapers down just a bit (obviously, to accomodate a mouthpiece shank), and then flares back out very quickly. The bore expansion on this mouthpipe is tons "faster" than a standard 188 mouthpipe, and still results with a final bore of .770".
A mouthpiece with a Bach-style exterior (with a shank that does not develop a dimension of at least .620") will drop into the receiver area of this mouthpipe and bottom out, so those types of mouthpieces would require extending the shank on a lathe, if used with this pipe.
All along the mouthpipe the difference between the size of this mouthpipe and a "stock" 188 mouthpipe is so striking as to easily be perceived by eye and without measuring equipment.
Included are:
2 detachable braces (for THIS mouthpipe and the buyer's "stock" mouthpipe)
1 detachable brace receiver and wing screw (solders to the bell)
1 short female slide (solders to the top of the 5th rotor casing to receive either mouthpipe)
1 extra male connector slide (for the buyer's original "stock" mouthpipe, and a small bit of trimming of the large end of the mouthpipe is required. The "Kaiser" mouthpipe already has this male slide installed.)
