I am feeling the urge to strike out on a new adventure. Pretty handy around cars, soldering copper water pipes and such, but never made an attempt to take apart a tuba.
Not that the idea has never crossed my mind.

I have a copy of the Ferree's Tools catalog, and a willing victim (spare, old beat up piston valve tuba). Rather than just experimenting with the old torch, it might be a good idea to get a few tips before I start my project.

I have browsed the NAPBIRT site and schools that provide training, but no reference to textbooks, or manuals. Can anyone recommend a good book on the subject. It might save me from making an irreversible mistake on my project. I would like the finished product to be a success.
