I seem to recall receiving a Mirafone piston valve BBb tuba at my high school in 1973. Those valves worked quite well.
Most often, when I've tried out other people's piston tubas of various makes, they feel like they need cleaning. Miraphone tuba pistons have been the same as others in this regard.
