I had the same problem with a new Miraphone. I removed all of the tuning slides and bottom valve caps. Then I applied a liberal amount of valve oil down into the valves, and to the bottom of the rotors. I found some minute metal filings, along with some lapping compound. I followed this by a dunk and swab in the tub with some Dawn dish soap. Then reoil and grease and put it all back together after it's dried thoroughly.

Don't use 3in1 oil. Just get some cheap valve oil like Al Cass to rinse out the valves.

I had no problems with the valves after this. Quiet and fast.
