I've seen this term used as a way to describe the "caving in" (due to the wood swelling towards the interior bore from continuous exposure to water) of the upper capillary bore of an oboe, but this is the first time I've ever seen it used in conjunction with a brass instrument - that only needed it's valves cleaned or its linkage straightened/adjusted.
I wonder what value you placed on it when you sold that "blown out" instrument? I wish I had been backstage with a bit of cash after your recital.
