I ran across an 84J (identified by the man, Matt Walters!). It has a terrific sound. Very vibrant and flexible to play (much more character than the current Conns, IMVHO). The intonation tendencies are somewhat different than my other horns(!), so it's a mind bender regarding fingerings to play in an ensemble setting (Matt even told me what notes would need attention when he identified the model from a picture, he was amazingly right on). If it was the horn I played most of the time, I'm sure I would adapt.

It sits in my living room on a K&M stand most of the time now. My wife has adopted it for "decor" at this point. I don't think I could sell it at this point, unless I replace it with something equally as cool. I must admit, it's really a great looking horn. I find myself looking at it from time to time when TV gets boring! :)
