Expect to pay for oversize and maybe overweight charges. I was charged $80 each way (on USAIR), and would have had to pay an additional $80 if they hadn't chosen to ignore that it was 5 lbs overweight. Try to put a strap around it - since you can't lock the case someone may catch the lock and pop it open by mistake. Tips for packing in the archives included a soccer ball in the bell and lots of bubble wrap.
