As usual the group has over thought this subject !
The first famous tuba with this feature was the
CSO dork..er York. This was done ENTIRLY to allow
it's player to see beter. This from Arnald hinself.
I've done this to my horns and it's a lot more comf-
ortable. Also at the urging of My friend, I may add
a piece of sheetmetal to the gap ala monet to see if
things change, but no time soon as I'm working on
another plastic tuba right now.
In the mean time, I do recomend it highly to everyone
who has two eyes as you can get a headach from covering
one of them all the time!
