I borrowed some wind band recordings from a friend this weekend, one of which was the London Wind Orchestra conducted by Denis Wick "Wind Music of Holst and Vaughn Williams" on compact disc. John Fletcher and Stephen Wick (brother?) on tuba. Other brass notables include Eric Crees, James Watson and Crisplan Steele-Perkins. Included are the two Holst Suites and RVW Folk Song Suite. Great playing, what seems to me like "The Interpretation" and surprisingly high fidelity recording. (I found myself thinking "Oh, that's what those marks on the page mean") If you're looking for examples of Mr Fletcher's playing, I don't think you could do much better than this recording played on a good stereo.
