16 beats per pitch - 8 beat crescendo / 8 beat diminuendo
tempo is 60 beats per minute
Begin on G at the bottom of the staff.
Go up a 1/2 step.
Go down a 1/2 step.
Keep expanding the interval until you reach fourth-space-below-staff G and fourth-space-in-staff G.
Use a tuner, and try to keep the pitch as close to center as possible.
Work to start softer, crescendo louder, diminuendo softer - all with a beautiful even sound...
...Unfortunately, there's no playing slide to help adjust the tuning.

Kopprasch tuba book (orig. French horn) for a jump-start in technique (I like this because it isn't written to "fit" the tuba, and because it doesn't "favor" the flat keys.)
