There were double-bell horns long before there was Noble Howard, who, by the way, rates more mention than he ever gets in euph history books ;-)

They were nice enough to take that horn out of drydock for me to play a couple solos on with the Indpls. Symphonic Band at a GABBF in Ky. a few years ago. AFAIK nobody used that horn after Noble Howard died & nobody has used it since.

While it was an honor for me to use that horn, it really hammered home to me how different equipment was back then, and even how different it was 20 yrs ago, but that's the stuff of another post!
