Thanks for the help fellas. I picked up a cheap strap wrench and removed all of the caps. I noticed a small metal shaving in the first valve cap. There was a little lapping compound in all of the valves. A little more in the first.
I gave my new baby a good bath and reoiled and greased everything. It cleaned up nicely. First valve quieted up. In fact they all feel better than before.
Do any other tuba brands have those bearing adjustment screws? I would think they would have to be pretty d*** worn out before they would need adjustment.
