A York CC I played recently had a thumbring that looked as though it could support the weight of a Chevy Suburban hanging off it. The thumbring on my 187 is durable so far, although it's hard to keep it in a comfy position while playing, thumbring-wise. If you use the bell rim instead of the thumbring to support the horn when putting it in the case, it's probably less likely to break. By the way, how do you adjust these "adjustable" thumbrings?
