Those who would praise a person will do so here. Those who would criticize a person will do so at their own peril or at the peril of the person who is the topic of conversation. Further, with the existance in this world of various agendae, such reviews (whether or not accurate) can never be known to be totally reliable.
I would recommend (rather than gathering opinions about a person from other "blokes") paying a campus visit, auditioning, and receiving a sample lesson. Surely the cost of a discount air fare would be worth it in light of the decision that you are making regarding years of your youth and many many thousands of dollars.
