He played second tuba with the CSO during the recent performanes of Symphonie Fantastique and used both a CC and F Tuba. The CC was a silver plated York-type (could have been a Nirschl or one of the actual Yorks) and the F was a B&S Perantucci, which appared to be either a PT-10 or PT-15. It was very similar to Gene's F, which was the only instrument he used during the performance.

BTW, they played the Dies Erie in unison except the last time through, when Mike played it down an octave, if I remember correctly. As opposed to the CSO recording where Scott Mendoker played it down one octave on CC, and Gene played it down two octaves on F.

At any rate, an excellent performance by all involved!
