At a concert at the Barbican last year the LSO played only music from films. Mr Harrild played his B&H Eb throughout and sounded incredible. Of note that evening was Maurice Murphy's trumpet playing which was out-of-this-world! My favourite Trumpeter. I believe the LSO performed the 'Film Concert' on a tour to the States, but I don't know what horn Mr Harrild used. His horns of choice are the Eb and the 6/4 Warren Deck and is equally stunning on either...

The depth of sound and sheer volume some of the best British players achieve on Sov Eb's can be deceptive to US listeners. Don't anyone presume because you hear BIG the horn must be BIG... :)
