I agree with Tony's assessment. Also, most of the free-lance work in the United States is done on a contrabass tuba (often a CC). In the 27 (aprox.) years that I have played professionally, the vast majority (more then 90%) of my work was on the CC tuba. This is my opinion from my experience.
