I would recommend trying the Cooley Helleberg in this horn. I have owned my 2000 for over a year now and started out using my trusty SHII. I made the switch to the Cooley because it centers SO much better in all ranges. Truly a great match!

To the original poster, you can not go wrong with a 2000. The are extremely responsive and play with incredible ease. If I could only have one tuba this would be it! Ron Bishop uses his with Cleveland and Chris Hall uses his with the Met. However, they are handmade and most likely vary from horn to horn. They are in demand now so it may be hard to play several of them and choose one. Dave Fedderly mentioned that he has a waiting list of 5 or so people.

Good Luck and great choice!

Pete
