Interesting that in the USA, it doesn't seem to matter what kind of valves you have. And, although CC and F seem to be the standard, you can get away with Bb or Eb as long as you sound good on it.
But, Europe seems to be all about tradition in certain ways. And I have always supported the "When in Rome" maxim.
