Just received news that the Board of Directors of The Savannah Symphony has closed down the orchestra . Unable to meet payroll,they took this drastic measure rather than try further to solve an ongoing financial shortfall.
And after years of operating in the black, my orchestra(Charlotte) is facing an astounding $450,000 deficit, and it's a negotiating year.Ugh. Last time it was this bad we settled for a 10% wage cut followed by a 3 year wage freeze.
