The danger in reading any of this kind of stuff, isn't primarily the facts, but rather the light in which they are interpreted. By identifying the NEA with the Frankfurt School and then dropping in "Third Reich", the article makes it sound as if the NEA were a bunch of foaming-at-the-mouth commies who are set on the destruction of democracy and the Christain life.

But then, Lyndon LaRouche's background material is mostly factual. The way he tells it and the conclusions that he draws are irrational, however, and easily draw in the unwary.

One might as well make the "factual" argument that the United States is the product of a secret plot by Freemasons. Or that IBM made the Holocaust possible.

Patriotism is a slippery term nowadays--it can mean whatever one wants. Personally, I believe critical thinking, questioning of authority and a good understanding of and participation in the laws and government of this country are about as patriotic as one can get--regardless of the amount of flag-waving and pledging that one does.

And we've been a multi-cultural country since before Revolutionary times.
