If your nervousness truly affects your playing, consider getting a prescription for Inderol. It inhibits the panic response without making you dull. You'll need to experiment with dosage, but 10-20mg is typical. I know a number of professional flute and trumpet players who use it for major auditions, but if you search the archives here you should find a discussion of its pros and cons.
