I bought one of these in 2000 when my Alex 164 of 43 years got too big, too heavy and too two or three other things as well. I picked it fairly easily over 3/4 (more or less) BBb horns by MW, Yamaha, VMI and Weril. The 182 is very well built. Intonation is very manageable. The valves are light and fast. The lower register is not the Alex's, but it is very open and free of the adenoid problems I experienced and hear in other smaller horns. I'm pleased with it. I'm an amateur and I play for my own fun. I play in a couple of smaller groups that play mostly for their own fun. It works well for me.
