I used to have a old Conn trombone mouthpiece like that. Very small rim diameter, deep somewhat conical cup. Too small for me, but a female trombone player I knew in college tried it and she could make a nice sound on it on a small bore tenor trombone. Overall smaller rims were the norm a few generations ago, on all the brass. The traditonal French style trombone is small bore, bell, small mouthpiece with a deep concical cup.
