besson got alot of their revenue from the UK brass band scene, and at one stage, the besson sovereign was the only instrument to have if you were serious, however, the information coming out of dealers is that the lottoery grant sceme in place for the last 8 years have allowed many bands to restock their instrument stores. (Brass bands tend to own an entire set of instruments, and lend them to players). This created a rush by booseys, and quality plummetted, now, if you want a decent Besson Tuba it's got to be 20 years old. Alot of bands are swapping to Cortouis (Spelling?) and Yamaha with their Maestro Range.
