I was using a Bach 7 on it at the time. When a grad student, I literally
found a 7, thought, "what the heck", and used the 7 on a 186 for about 10 years.
It certainly filled out the low end of the horn, and didn't back up on me like
the old C4 did (but what a great mouthpiece the C4 was...)
I won't argue the point that the 7 takes a lot of air, and pretty stable chops
to hold it together, but I personally think it works great on smaller horns.
