A funnel shaped mouthpiece will move the air faster. If your tuba has a fast taper, you might want a funnel. If the diameter inside the tube is fairly constant, more cylandrical than conical, a bowl may be better. Of course, either type of mouthpiece will work, and your mileage may vary.
