No matter what school you go to, there are high chances they will have a good CC or BBb that you can use. At my school we have a wide variety of horns to choose from. Music majors get first choice so we pretty much play on what ever horn we want. When i got a little bit of extra money, I asked my teacher what kind of horn I should get. He tld me to get an F. THere is some really good solo work for F horn and it makes things alot easier. I guess it matters the persons situation. My next big project is getting a C horn. BUt my F was a smart choice.
