The piece you are referring to is by Kenneth Jacobs. I think the complete title is The Children of the Hermit and Their Mountain Handy-work. The only performance I know of was by Sande MacMorran (for whom the piece was written)in the 1970's. Jacobs wanted to make a recording of the piece a couple of years ago, if I am not mistaken. I don't know if anything happened with that, though. You might try contacting Dr. Jacobs or even Sande at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
