Joe, as for your "case in point", I know this happens as well as anybody. If you keep making the same point over and over again, I'll keep agreeing with you. As far as "anonymity" I can't find your ID on the first post, maybe because my i Book doesn't have a right click, but it still looks anonymous to me. Thirdly, look at old pictures of orchestras. Notice any women? Black people? Asians? This is one of the reasons that there are rules. How much an orchestra follows them is anybody's guess. I would not want to be defending the exclusionary position you are taking, it seems very old fashioned for a bunch of middle aged white men to fund an orchestra and then hire whomever they want. If the object is to get the best person for the job, then we need the rules.
